We plan to publish this feature in 2017. If you want to speed up our development, you can donate – or even better – upgrade to Premium. This helps us to employ more developers.
Thank you very much for your continuous support!
@Jarad thanks for checking out Tutanota! We plan to implement this feature till the end of the year.
Emeline: Thanks for upgrading! We will continue our work on this feature in 2017.
We would be more than happy if we would be able to develop even faster and try to improve from day to day.
But please do not forget, that our team is still very small and we do not only concentrate on implementing new features. There are many other things that we have to take care of. Just to mention a few of them:
* Provide excellent support to all of you
* Work on our systems to realize an outstanding uptime
* Get new team members on board
* Building up sales
We will definitely add this feature in future. If you want to enable us to implement features faster: upgrade to premium or donate. And there is always the option to pay for implementing a feature. Just contact us if this one is really critical for you and you are willing to pay for it.
we are sorry to read this.
You can reuse your old email addresses for a new Premium account and get all data resent.
Just contact us through https://tutanota.com/contact and tell us that you are a Premium user in the subject so that we can reply as soon as possible.
your account was NOT hacked. You can not access it due to the reasons we explained via email.
in that case we can only delete the account in order to make sure that it is not misused.
Hi B and Anonymous,
please contact us at email@example.com providing your email addresses and we will look into your accounts.
please send a request to firstname.lastname@example.org providing your Tutanota email address. We will look into your account and see what we can do. :-)
If you think you lost your password, please make sure that you are using the correct domain when logging in (plus no upper case, spelling mistakes in email address/password). This is often the problem.
Of course a "normal" password reset is not possible. But we have thought about a way to configure another Tuanota user you trust and let that user reset your password. Still, we do not have finally decided about this.
we already spoke to Tresorit:
In a first step encrypted cloud storage could be realised via the browser only.
In a second step, of course, the integration with local file systems should be implemented, but not from the start.
It has been implemented on the backend already. It is just the GUI that is missing. However, we are currently working on tasks with a higher priority. It may take some more time to finally implement the GUI....
We plan to publish an encrypted calendar in 2017. If you want to speed up our development, you can donate – or even better – upgrade to Premium and order storage and alias upgrades. This helps us to employ more developers.
Thank you very much for your continuous support!
We hope for Q3 but Q4 is probably more realistic.
We had to postpone the calendar implementation as we have been hired to implement other features first. Sorry!
We’ll add search as soon as possible (beginning of 2017). Currently only search within the browser (crt+f) works.
Search will be implemented into the beta client very soon.
Also, there have been many more changes than only those in design. Tutanota is much faster, you can mark emails as unread, export multiple emails at once, download all attachments and so on. Another great new feature is keyboard navigation. Keep testing. :-))
yes, search will be available in both the webclient and our mobile apps. :-)
Search is next on our to do list and will be implemented into the new client. :-)
Bitcoins can already be used to donate:
You can either delete folders or use multi-select: https://tutanota.com/blog/posts/release-notes-2-9
Unfortunately, we had to postpone this feature to early 2017. However, it is on the top of our list now... :-)
Planned for 2017
we are currently testing the new client which we were working on for the past months. Two Factor Authentication will be implemented into the new client soon. Stay tuned. :-)
Hi Tur! :-)
This feature will definitely be implemented this year. We are currently working very hard on the new client. Check our release notes if you're interested in our latest implementations:
I just took a further look, your comments have been caught by the spam filter of uservoice. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Is this a screenshot of the 2-factor Authentication idea?
We decline feature requests, if they are duplicates. We don't delete comments, unless they include hate speech, advertisement or the like.
Hi D. Oremi,
the status idea of this idea will be updated to Completed as soon as this feature has been implemented. If you activated this function, you will be notified via email.
Sorry for the delay! This feature has a high priority for us but we had to implement other security features in advance. I am confident that this feature will be added during the next months.
We will try very hard for a nice Christmas gift, but probably the 2FA release will come in the beginning of 2016.
Thanks, anonymous. We don't use MD5. Tutanota uses bcrypt and SHA256 to generate the hash locally.
Thanks, Anonymous. Of course we can explain otherwise: When a password is used for authentication (login), it is not necessary that it is known to the server you want to authenticate with. It is enough that the server has a fingerprint (hash) of your password. With Tutanota your hash for authentication is calculated by your browser and only the hash is being sent. Your password never travels the Internet in plain text and it is never seen by our server. As hashes are non-invertible, the server is unable to reconstruct your password from the hash. In this way the server is not able to decrypt your data, while still able to log you in.
In short: One password is enough. On the server, there is only encrypted data and only you can decrypt it. If anyone should hack the server, which is very very difficult, all they get is encrypted data.
Exporting multiple mails has been implemented in our new client (currently in beta).
Importing is still on our TODO-List but there are many higher rated feature request that will be implemented before...
we will do our best to avoid this from happening - but if we ever had to shut down Tutanota, there would definitely be a solution for this.
We never said that this feature will be realized in 2015. We will definitely implement import and exporting of whole mailboxes (single mails can be exported already) at a later stage.
looks like your account has been approved?
There are several possible answers to your question.
Are you referring to the badge icon on iOS? Or on the inbox icon in our client?
Please try to logout and login again.
You can format the text with shortcuts via your keyboard (Ctr+b, Ctr+i). We still have to implement the according buttons.
Which browser and which platform are you using?
Sure! The new client will enable some more formatting tools like lists.
@Anonymous You may vote for plain text here: https://tutanota.uservoice.com/forums/237921-general/suggestions/7200534-plain-text-email-please
In order to select multiple emails at once, you can use the Ctrl or Shift key.
This idea can be supported here:
You can zoom by scrolling the mouse wheel while holding CTRL key, have you tried that?
Tutanota adapts to the language used by your browser/device. Change accordingly and refresh the page. :-)
Die Integration wird nicht verweigert, sie ist nicht möglich:
Aktuell kann Tutanota aus Sicherheitsgründen nur über den Webclient und unsere mobilen Apps genutzt werden.
Hello Monero users and a warm welcome! :) We are happy about your interest in our privacy-focused encrypted mail service. We build our features based on the needs of Tutanota users. May we kindly ask, who of you has already switched to Tutanota as your main email service? If you haven’t yet, you may try it right away: https://app.tutanota.de/#register
We would still love to add monero support. Unfortunately, we have not found any easy way to do this. Paybee is still in private beta.
Sure! We are currently working on implementing the bitcoin payments. We will have a better overview on what needs to be done for monero after we finished this. We will share more details about this story, afterwards.
If you click on a menu item while composing an email, the text does not disappear. Go back to Emails in the menu and you're back where you left.
If you open another folder while composing an email, it is automatically saved in your Drafts folder.
Sorry, my fault!
You can now vote again.
Importing contacts from Yahoo is currently not possible. However, you can use all contacts stored on your phone when using your app.
We are investigating this. Unfortunately, it works on all our test devices. We’ll have to find a device where it is not working to debug it and find out what’s causing this.
Unfortunately, we can not reproduce this problem. It is working on our test devices with android 7.1.1.
Is there anything special you do to reproduce this?
