Thanks, anonymous. We don't use MD5. Tutanota uses bcrypt and SHA256 to generate the hash locally.
Thanks, Anonymous. Of course we can explain otherwise: When a password is used for authentication (login), it is not necessary that it is known to the server you want to authenticate with. It is enough that the server has a fingerprint (hash) of your password. With Tutanota your hash for authentication is calculated by your browser and only the hash is being sent. Your password never travels the Internet in plain text and it is never seen by our server. As hashes are non-invertible, the server is unable to reconstruct your password from the hash. In this way the server is not able to decrypt your data, while still able to log you in.
In short: One password is enough. On the server, there is only encrypted data and only you can decrypt it. If anyone should hack the server, which is very very difficult, all they get is encrypted data.
Exporting multiple mails has been implemented in our new client (currently in beta).
Importing is still on our TODO-List but there are many higher rated feature request that will be implemented before...
we will do our best to avoid this from happening - but if we ever had to shut down Tutanota, there would definitely be a solution for this.
We never said that this feature will be realized in 2015. We will definitely implement import and exporting of whole mailboxes (single mails can be exported already) at a later stage.
We plan to publish an encrypted calendar in 2017. If you want to speed up our development, you can donate – or even better – upgrade to Premium and order storage and alias upgrades. This helps us to employ more developers.

In order to select multiple emails at once, you can use the Ctrl or Shift key.

You can zoom by scrolling the mouse wheel while holding CTRL key, have you tried that?

If you think you lost your password, please make sure that you are using the correct domain when logging in (plus no upper case, spelling mistakes in email address/password). This is often the problem.
Of course a "normal" password reset is not possible. But we have thought about a way to configure another Tuanota user you trust and let that user reset your password. Still, we do not have finally decided about this.
Tutanota adapts to the language used by your browser/device. Change accordingly and refresh the page. :-)

Sure! We are currently working on implementing the bitcoin payments. We will have a better overview on what needs to be done for monero after we finished this. We will share more details about this story, afterwards.
If you click on a menu item while composing an email, the text does not disappear. Go back to Emails in the menu and you're back where you left.
If you open another folder while composing an email, it is automatically saved in your Drafts folder.

Importing contacts from Yahoo is currently not possible. However, you can use all contacts stored on your phone when using your app.
We are investigating this. Unfortunately, it works on all our test devices. We’ll have to find a device where it is not working to debug it and find out what’s causing this.
Unfortunately, we can not reproduce this problem. It is working on our test devices with android 7.1.1.

We would be more than happy if we would be able to develop even faster and try to improve from day to day.
But please do not forget, that our team is still very small and we do not only concentrate on implementing new features. There are many other things that we have to take care of. Just to mention a few of them:

* Get new team members on board
* Building up sales
We will definitely add this feature in future. If you want to enable us to implement features faster: upgrade to premium or donate. And there is always the option to pay for implementing a feature. Just contact us if this one is really critical for you and you are willing to pay for it.
We will implement aliases first which should improve handling of multiple email addresses.
We just implemented a feature that makes logging out and in very easy when you store your credentials.

@Anonymous You need to log out, then log in again without ticking the 'save'-button. After this, the password is deleted and it won't lock you in again.
may I ask you to clarify what are the benefits of your proposed approach in comparison to the catch-all feature that can be easily used with custom domains?
BTW: Usage of "." as a separator is not possible as we have already given away mail addresses with "." for our domains (e.g. email@example.com) ...
