MEGA? srsly, the company of kim dot com that has been taken over by shady chinese investors? if you host any sensible data there, then sorry, you are dumb.

The world already has Mega. They already have good software written for a lot of platforms. Don't re-implement that concept until you've first fleshed out the email feature set.

do support nextcloud, it is like owncloud, only it is going to be developed in the open.

We desperately need this, the best alternative currently is openmailbox.org + nextcloud or owncloud.

So yeah Tutanota needs to host cloud storage. even if it starts out as paid only support, ie 2gb with the 12$ a year package.

And please, use a local encryption capable platform. As much as I like Owncloud (I don't know about its evolution, NextCloud, though), it performs encryption on the server, so our files travel just "protected" by the already NSA cracked https channel. That's obviously inacceptable.

I would argue that this is not your core focus. Until email is rock-solid, please don't get distracted!

I would love this! Please keep up your AMAZING work! Free is always better, but with competitive companies google, I can see why donations are extremely helpful at this point. I'd be willing to take on the responsibility if you are hiring for such positions..?..? Think about it and email me back. Have a BLESSED Day in JESUS name I pray! =)

i think i agree with Jon, focus on email, but with storage you guys could integrate fintech blockchain services as Sia or Storj, they have very customizeable costs and is completely decentralized, or integrate your own private cloud storage

    Blockchain services

Open-Source Softwares for Private Cloud Storage Server

There are few workable zero-knowledge storage and file sharing services out there at present, principally as security is a trade off for team share features.

Tutanota clearly has something to offer, but I'd be worried if they get overly distracted delivering a file sharing service when there are others doing this. Tutanota's forte is email. Maybe a well designed "light touch" solution is the way forward - but rely on other providers to offer the team share function (such as Sync.com or SpiderOak)

DropBox, Google Drive, OneDrive do not protect the privacy of users. This is both an important feature and business opportunity. I think demand for this will be high

To those who are suggesting mega, the guy who made mega doesn't trust his own company because they kicked him out...

so I would appreciate it, if you would not say they shouldn't do this. They absolutely should, it would be very helpful to have online cloud storage.

would be great it doesnt feel save and when there is al lot of private things its the most importent thing

i don't think that a better idea but you can connect to "Mega", that will be very much possible to have online drive than DropBox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc

I'm perfectly happy with Spideroak and would much rather see Tutanota work on some of the outstanding privacy-oriented issues regarding email, rather than attempting a half-baked "me too" venture into another domain.

Looking forward to this. It's a vital piece of any email service today. Email, calnder and storage all together under one provider & their security, it's great news! Will upgrade as soon as this is complete!
